چکیده

This work reports the application of a biochar (BC) derived from eucalyptus wood chips to remove pesticides (imidacloprid, acetamiprid and methomyl) water. The pseudo-second order kinetic adsorption model is best fit describing on BC. Furthermore, Langmuir correlated well with isotherm data for methomyl, while Freundlich was selected explain imidacloprid maximum capacities BC material are 32.42, 14.75 4.87 mg g−1, respectively. highest capacity methomyl surface could be result multilayer suggested by studies, (or acetamiprid) monolayer being adsorbed surface. structure, functional groups pesticides, including their polarity, all played an important role contributing performance sorbent. Preferable interactions between studied may include π-π hydrogen bonding. steric aromatic entity in hinder possibility other pesticide molecules approaching available sorption sites

Adsorption kinetics of herbicide paraquat in aqueous solution onto a low-cost adsorbent, swine-manure-derived biochar

Biochars have received increasing attention in recent years because of their significant properties such as carbon sequestration, soil fertility, and contaminant immobilization. In this work, the adsorptive removal of paraquat (1,10-dimethyl-4,40-dipyridinium chloride, one of the most widely used herbicides) from aqueous solution onto the swine-manure-derived biochar has been studied at 25 C in...

Adsorption kinetics of polyethylene glycol from aqueous solution onto activated carbon.

The adsorption equilibrium and kinetics of polyethylene glycol (PEG) in three aqueous systems were examined in this study. Langmuir isotherm was used to satisfactorily predict the adsorption capacity of PEG on activated carbon F-400 and applied to the investigation of adsorption kinetics. The surface diffusion, pore diffusion, and branched pore kinetics models successfully described the adsorpt...

Adsorption of Lead from Aqueous Solution onto Untreated Orange Barks

Waste materials with no further treatment such as orange barks from commercial oranges may act as adsorbent for the removal of Pb. Batch kinetic and equilibrium experiments were conducted to study the effects of contact time, initial pH, adsorbent dose and initial concentration of lead. The results show that the equilibrium was achieved less than 30 min of contact time. Three adsorption isother...

Adsorption kinetics and thermodynamics of Malachite Green from aqueous solutions onto expanded Graphite nanosheets

Expanded graphite nanosheets (EG-nanosheets) were used for adsorption of Malachite Green (MG) from aqueous solution. The influences of dye concentrations, absorbent dosage, pH values and the temperatures on the adsorption were investigated as well. The dye adsorption experiments were carried out by utilizing batch procedure. EG-nanosheets were initially characterized by scanning electron micros...
